Brookings, Oregon
We are back in Brookings!
We left California earlier than planned due to the “atmospheric river” that was about to drench the area. Brookings is one of our favorite places to visit in Oregon!
Last year we stayed at Alfred A Loeb State Park and Harris Beach State Park. Two of our favorite Oregon State Parks!
Note: To really appreciate the value of Oregon State Parks, stay in some California State Parks first. 😉

Our site at Harris Beach State Park
We are so excited to be here! Let the Oregon adventures begin!

Southern Coast of Oregon
Alfred A Loeb State Park
We have been in Oregon for several days, however it was not until we found this campground that we really felt like we were back in the Pacific Northwest! The lushness of green…moss, ferns, clovers, blackberry bushes, and oh the trees…so many wonderful trees! There is also the Chetco River which runs right behind the campground. Our first night we stayed in #4 and loved the huge “backyard” of our site. Today we moved over to #33 which has peek-a-boo river views, easy access to the river path (with a bridge), near the bathrooms and showers, and has a nice large picnic and fire area. We just planned to stay one night…and that has turned into two…and think we’ll end up staying here several more days.
Hearts of Oregon
Two different campsites, one near Bend and one in Brookings, we found hearts on our campsites. Both times we drove around the campground looking for a site and were drawn towards one, we parked, and then after getting out and exploring our site we found hearts! We are feeling the love Oregon! Thank you to whomever left these hearts. Both times we had had rough travel days and these hearts really made our day!!
Update: Just found this one at our campsite today!! Third time is the charm!!
